N. Davidson State Team tryout date ??

    From an earlier post

    Tryout at North Davidson this Saturday for seniors of the West Team. It will begin at 11:00. There will be a registration table on site.
    If you are a catcher please bring your equipement.

    Things that will occur at the tryout.
    A) fielding skills, infield and outfield
    B) Offensive skills, hitting, bunting, and slapping.
    C) Baserunning times examples: home to first, home to second, and home to home.
    D) Pitchers throwing various styles and pitches.
    E) Catchers, plate skills, pop times 1st, 2nd,3rd.
    F) possible situations and how you will handle them in a game.

    Tryout should last about 2 hours and more if needed.

    Remember; this is a tryout not a practice.

    Relax and bring your "A" game.

    There is a lot of great talent in North Carolina and there will be a lot of sleepless nights for the coaches of these teams during this tryout process.

    The next tryout is scheduled for Central Cabarrus on the 21st. and if needed a possible 3rd.

    Anyone want to make a guess as to who will be chosen as pitchers on the state team?

    Ward (Butler)
    Glossen (ND)
    Childers (Kings Mountain)

    Not as familiar with the East except for Sutton (N Pitt)

    Have next weeks try-out been changed to the 28th since so many teams are playing in tournaments on the 21st.

    Hate to drive to North Davidson if we can do this at Central Cabarrus!

    I was thinking pitchers for our area team but that is underclassmen ,you may be right on picks for the senior team. should have had my java this morning before I started misreading stuff

    Not as many ladies trying out this past weekend as I would have thought. Wonder why? Prom, TB or just not interested?
