The awaited battle between Mooresville JV and Lake Norman JV ended in a 2-2 tie. Played x innings but was called because of the Varsity game followed. Lake Norman still is a game ahead in the standings.

    Watauga - 12
    Freedom - 3

    WP - Austin Story
    LP - Nick Newton

    Cal Hardee - 2-3 with a double
Austin Story 2-3 with a double

Watauga got down 3-0 early, typical. Then woke up the bats in the 4th with 8 runs with nobody out. If your looking to play Watauga your gonna have to score alot of runs. They have alot of power throughout the order. Six different homeruns this year by 4 different people. They went on to get one more that inning. Score ended up being 12-3. Alot of chatter between the two teams. Very questionable balk call. Pitcher Austin Story dropped the ball while not on the mound and picked it up and started rubbing the dirt into the ball. Field umpire yells balk and upon discussion leaves it as called. There was no spit or illegal fluid put on the ball though. Balls are rubbed up all the time for pitchers, its simply part of the pitching game. I could name a number of teams that rub up their baseballs before the game then give them to the ump. Anyone got a clear explanation for this... was it the right call or did the umpire just think he saw something illegal and named it a balk?

Mount Tabor JVs beat South Rowan 14-7. After South jumped on tabor in first inning loading the bases with no outs, the Spartans took the lead for the rest of the game on the back of 3 homeruns.

let me beat One Putt to the punch...

    Ragsdale 5
    Southwestern Randolph 4

I called my daughter to get her work schedule for the weekend and she was at the game.

Ragsdale was down 4-3 with one out in the 7th with a runner on third. Ryan Andrejco tied it up with a single and Cody Myers doubled in Andrejco for the winning run. I got all this live over the phone.

Also I don't remember the exact score but I believe last night Ragsdale beat SE Guilford 7-4.

After those two wins the JV is 14-0 and 8-0 in the conference. Having a great season.
