Braves, thanks for the positive. Need more of it from everyone.
As for the CC JV squad they are solid and not one is from the wrong side of the track, if anything they are all on the right track and the first person that would know that is coach S. They work as hard on the field during practice as any varsity player does and if needed would give 100% to get the job done and I would not bet against them doing it either. These girls are the future CC varsity and when the time comes the others better be ready to play (hard).

I suppose for any team that transfers could affect this.

    feeder system

looks to this mom that CC and their families are doing something right. there is lots of talent out west ( NC west ) but it takes the commitment, or i should say, the right committment of the players, parents and coaches to make a championship program.can't argue with success. good job all. play safe.

    CC JV

Transfers will effect those dedicated JV players that give their all and then a transfer comes in for the great academic record of the school that the coaching staff has promoted where does that put those dedciated players.Coaches move Varsity players back and forth to make those JV teams look actully better than they are. ND and CC are two that come to mind.

Not quite the same at Hopewell.

Wish it was the same way at Hopewell as it is at Central Cabarrus, Butler and some other NC high schools. At Hopewell, JV is considered more like the red headed step child. JV practices seperate from Varsity most of the time, and the schedule that is offered is very weak, with not many games. I noticed that Central has already played 12 games this year, while Hopewell JV has only played 6. Hopewell has a some high caliber softball talent, but they just aren't getting an opportunity to play many games. The girls are frustrated, because it seems like all they ever do is practice. Don't get me wrong. Practice is a good thing and is a must to improve and work on fundamental skills. However, if you never get to transfer that knowledge to true game conditions, practice is only going to get you so far. You should practice hard, and the games are the reward, and should be the fun part and payoff for those efforts. Part of the reason for the lack of games, is the fact that half the teams in the MECA-6 conference don't have JV teams, due to the lack of girls participating. I have noticed that most of the High Schools outside of the Charlotte Metro, all have JV squads. In South Carolina, if you are in eighth grade and you are good enough, you can actually play on Varsity. I actually know a couple of girls who have accomplished this in the past. If I'm the coach or athletic director at a high school, and I know that there won't be a full schedule for my JV in conference, then I'm going to attempt to find some non-conference schools to try and match up some games with. It probably doesn't happen, just because the AD figures that JV is no big deal, and that they don't need to play that many games.

Like I said, just wish all schools ran their JV like Central Cabarrus, Butler, etc. Might be why those schools are having such great success with their Varsity programs.
