NW Guilford has a very good team. They played a scrimmage at Ragsdale early and really took it to the Tigers. Had me a little concerned about Ragsdale's prospects until I really watched and saw how talented NWG was.

    Whiteville High School

    Whiteville 4 East Columbus 2

Whiteville was down 2-1 with 2 outs in the seventh inning when Caleb Andrews after pitching an outstanding game, gave up five straight walks with two balks along the way to give Whiteville the 4-2 lead. Robbie Penny came in to close out the game but he hit the first batter, struck out the tough second batter, gave up a hit to put runners on first and second. But he came back to strike the next two batters out.
Trey Nye started the game and pitched five plus innings. Giving up the 2 earned runs. Zach Stanley came in to relieve in the bottom of the sixth inning with two runners on and no outs. To pop outs and a strike out to get out of the inning.

    Whiteville Record:
    15-3, 6-0 conference

    WP: Zach Stanley 1-0
    Save: Robbie Penny (2nd save)

    Riverside/Person

    Person 2
    Riverside 1

This was a well played game by both teams. Riverside had a 1-0 lead until the seventh inning when Person tied it up. Person eventually claimed the victory in the bottom of the eighth. Jacob Ezzell (Riverside) was headed for a no hitter through six great innings of pitching.

This was a hard one for either team to lose but a great game to watch.

This was a well played game, yes it was a tough one to see either team lose. Both pitchers pitched well, Peed pitched his way out of jams and played excellent defense as a pitcher. Overall a well-played scrappy game by both teams.

    Oxford Webb at South Granville

    Webb 0

South Granville defeated Oxford Webb 9-0. Pratt Maynard went six strong innings and Nash Blackley pitched the 7th striking out the side.

Leading Hitters: Webb - Sam Snipes 2-3 dbl single

Big game Tuesday night at Southern Alamance. A win and SG wins the conference title a loss and it will be tied up with the Patriots. This should be an intense and exciting game.
