acutually i think the mistakes that reporter is talking about is a girl got a triple yes..
and then the next at bat a girl hit to ss with one out and the "coach" sent her home.

there are the facts.

 

It was Senior Day at McDowell yesterday...senior catcher Kayla Fields drove in three runs to lead the Lady Titans. McDowell got 11 hits in the game but the 8 walks was what hurt South Caldwell the most. McDowell got some good pitching from Taryn Brown who went five innings. Of all the home games that I have watched it was the first time all year that McDowell really jumped on a team early. We are known to start a little slow. If we can carry this offense over to friday we might have a chance against Freedom.

 

Yes.. kayla field is a great hitter and catcher... she has influenced the team greatly the 4 years she has been playin 4 McDowell.. McDowell hasn't been doing great at home games but they have so much potential... McDowell has so much talent but they startin progressin... the lose to EB was very surprising.. it should've been a cake walk for them.. An insider of the team told me that the sophmore DH E. Wallace went 3-4 yesterday with broke fingers?

Thanks for the insight. There is no defense for a walk. Even 1 or 2 can haunt you in a close game. Glad to see the Lady Titans playing well.

 

Wallace connected very well with two hits

Kim Coley (3B) was injured in the first inning when she was hit by the ball on an attempted pickoff. South's catcher was trying to catch Kim off-guard at first base and the ball which was thrown inside the baseline hit Kim on the hand.

BTW, McDowell has a late-season non conference battle at TC Roberson today.

Please have patience with your team and Coach. She is and will do a good job, are players born with great playing abilities? No, they must aquire those abilities through game experience and coaches must do the same. It is very easy sitting in the stands or at home second guessing. South is a good team, but this conference is pretty strong with Alexander and Freedom at the top and then McDowell-AC Reynolds and Watauga in the mix. Now East Burke is playing better. Just give it time

 

I got the score second hand.I quit going to the games to depressing to see what has happened to our program. Couple examples of how good a job is being done there;
We have by all accounts our most athletic team ever this year
1. For the first time ever we will finish last in conference. And it is not because our conference is that strong this year at all.
2. For the first time ever we lost to a team in our county.
3. For the first time ever we will have a losing record. really we will end up losing more than twice as many as we will win.
4. For the first time ever we were MERCY RULED.
5. For the first time ever we weren't in the championship of our own tournament.
Only thing good about this is hopefully the AD will have seen enough also
I could go on but I don't need to I think you get the point. I know ladiesbball fan will have something smart to say anyway.

 

My mistake. I was thinking of 18 runs, forgot it was strike outs. I was at that game, just mixed up.

 

My response was posted before my other post for some reason. You are correct, my mistake. I was at the game and remembered 18, and when you 18said strikeouts I realized my mistake. I remember that was also the day after project graduation.
