    Ragsdale 1

    Asheboro 0

Ragsdale finishes the season 19-0. First undefeated season under current coach.

5 different pitchers won games. Two pitchers were 5-0, and one was 4-0. Team batting average was Ok, in the .360 range while holding opponents to .218. Team won 3 games after being down in the 7th, won tonight 1-0, and were losing in 9 games after the 4th inning. These kids have been together since coach pitch. The freshmen have not lost a school game since Middle School started. No real standouts on the team (they're all stadouts in my eyes). Every single player contributed in a major way. They are all good friends. And they achieved all this with 4 freshmen playing varsity (2 starters) and 2 sophomores starting on varsity. Needless to say, we are excited about the future.

David Turner from Asheboro pitched a great 3 hit game tonight.

Awesome season Kirk. JV games were as fun to watch as the varsity this year. Baseball will be fun to watch at Ragsdale for at least the next three years with this soph/freshman class. As far as I know there was only one junior on this years varsity roster so most of these JV kids will get a chance to move up next year.

In tonights game Ryan Andrejco went the distance for Ragsdale and Mike Whited got the game winning RBI driving in Logan Dunn. Ol Braves has a soft spot for those Whited kids so I know he'll like reading that.

    Providence- 6
    Butler- 4

Jordan Fuller got the win for Providence while pitching 4+ innings and giving up 4 runs. Andy Clifford had another strong relief appearence going 2 2/3 while Alex Wood came in with 2 outs in the 7th for a game ending strikeout. Butler's defense made 7 errors in the game and proved to be very costly. Providence is now 14-5 on the season and closes the season out with Myers Park on tuesday

    they deserve credit

they're for real all right and should have won by a lot more. they left a lot of runners on, which is uncharacteristic. left bases loaded at least twice. they've at least clinched a tie but shouldn't overlook mcdowell. last time they played, reynolds used one of their second tier pitchers and he nearly had a perfect game. picked off the guy he walked. not that he struck people out. the defense made some great plays. mcdowell's going to be ready this time unlike watauga, which lost to reynolds both times.

    1 hit

    1 pitch made the difference!!
AC had 3 hits to South's 2 hits. It was one pitch left high that #14 got a hold of and put over that scored the 2 runs. Poarch pitched a great game allowing only 3 hits, enough to usually clinch a win. Poarch had a super pick-off at third to get out of one of those bases loaded. South's bats seem to be either hot or cold and last night they were cold. We saw the same pitcher last time and he evidently has drastically improved since then. He did a great job! Congratulations. Wish JV had playoffs so we could go for best of three. LOL
