    The Game has been cancelled due to the SW4A coaches conf. meeting being scheduled at the same time.
    Its a shame that we could not play this one as both teams were looking forward to the game and fellowship afterwards. The KM parents were going to hold a cookout for both teams after the contest. Thank you KM parents. Maybe next year.
    Good luck to KM and Butler in the post season.

    KM & Butler did not play yesterday but KM did play Ronald Reagan High.

    KINGS MOUNTAIN — Kings Mountain’s Courtney Tate finished with three hits, three steals and scored three runs as the Mountaineers defeated Ronald Reagan High 7-0 Saturday afternoon.

    Kristin Cogdill added two hits for Kings Mountain (16-2 overall), while Haley Hoyle slugged a home run. Megan Hoyle, Haley Barnett and Casey Camp each had a double for the Mountaineers in the non-conference contest.

    Morgan Childers went the first five innings and struck out 12 of the 16 batters she faced, giving up just one hit. Jordan Childers finished off the shutout with two innings of relief work.

    Kings Mountain hosts East Gaston Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in a non-conference game.

    Game is on!

    According to Butler Principal's newsletter dated 4/30, the game is on Wednesday May 2nd. JV @ 4:30pm and Varisty @ 6pm. Thought I'd pass it on and hopefully its correct!!!
    Has anyone heard different?

    Unless something has changed, the game was canceled. Plus, Kings Mtn. doesn't have JV team at all, unless I've lost my mind?:60:

    BUTLER vs KM

    The game will NOT be played tomorrow.


    KM does not have a JV team this year.
    Butler has three games this week. Our last regular season vs East Meck, and two conf. tournament games on Thursday and Friday.

    Why?

    why a very successful HS softball program like KM has no JV?? what factors contribute to this?

    They have typically had JV's in the past, but I think mainly just a lack of numbers this year. Actually, I don't know of any JV teams in their conference, so scheduling games isn't easy. Also, not many fields with lights, not many coaches, and on and on. Mainly the numbers this year though?

    exactly.... the Total Numbers didnt add up for JVs throughout that conference and many others!
