    Congrats to Lady Chargers Melissa Hunter and Laura Grigg on their combined no-hitter of Forestview. Hunter worked the first 6 with Grigg coming on in the 7th to close the deal. Natalyn Blanton had 4 hits for the Chargers.

    Crest is now 7-1 in the Big South and 12-4 overall.

    This team has a lot of talent, and must be playing really well. Saturday will be a good experience for them. Go up there prepared because Hopewell and Alexander are the real deal. Good luck!

    1st no-hitter

    I loved playing in this game bc i have never thrown a no-hitter before and it felt really good to get the game ball for this. And now Lady Chargers have won the Conference Championship and are looking forward to playing in the Conference tournament starting next wk.

    congrats to lefty, nat, morgan and the rest of the girls from crest for beating east gaston in the big south 3A/4A conference, beat south point this week and you've got the conference title. definately some good pitching this year from lefty along with some pretty good hitting. girls have got talent and hope they go far in the state.

    Congrats from me too. Cheese, I know we discussed it, but when you're mentioning the names on that team, you've got to throw in young Kendyl McWhirter, who wound playing shortstop as a freshman, when Blanton went to catcher. Though I didn't see many games, I understand she hit the ball well, too. This young lady has a chance to be really special. Stay in there Kendyl, and play all the softball you can!!!!!!

    sorry for the overlooked killer at the plate, just guessing, but believe that in two games against huss, she went 5-7, not bad for a freshman, not bad. (better than i could do anyway).
