Need some help on records, standings, etc.

    There are 27 auto qualifying slots: Big South 2, Queen City 3, MECA 4, SW4A 5, NW4A 4, CPC 4, Metro 4 + 5 place from PAC 6 league in the east

Wild Cards: 5 teams that did not qualify with the best overall winning percentage

For teams that did not qualify via allotted conference slots or winning conference tournaments.

Conference tournament games do not count in determining winning percentages.

Conference tournament action may effect these if a non qualifier wins tournament.

    Big South: 3 4A teams - 1. Crest, 2. Ashbrook 3. East Gaston 4-17

    Queen City: 4 4A teams - 1. West Meck, 2.Berry 6-14; 3. Garinger ? 4. Harding 5-18

    MECA 6: 1. North Meck, 2. Hopewell, 3. Central Cabarrus, 4. JM Robinson. 5. Vance 6-12

    NW4A: 1. South Caldwell, 2. AC Reynolds, 3. Alexander Central, 4. Watauga, 5. Freedom 8-13, 6. East Burke 6-14

    CPC: 1. W. Forsyth, 2. N. Davidson, 3. E. Rowan, 4. Mt. Tabor, 5. Davie 16-7, 6. S. Rowan 11-12, 7. Reynolds ?

    Metro: 1. E. Forsyth, 2. NW Guildford, 3. Grimsley, 4. Page, 5. N. Forsyth 6-16

    SW4A: 1. Butler, 2. Providence, 3. Weddington, 4. Myers Park, 5. Ardrey Kell, 6. Independence 12-10, 7. South Meck 10-14

    From this it looks like the following teams would be Wild Card teams: 1. Davie 16-7; 2. Independence 12-10; 3. S. Rowan 11-12; 4. South Meck 10-14; 5. Freedom 8-13;

    Vance and South Meck

Vance and South Meck make the playoffs? Is this part of the "No Child Left Behind Act?"

5 or 6 WC in West

If you look at the bracket for the 4A West, there are only 5 wild cards. Instead of taking 6 they have moved #5 from the PAC 6 from the East to the West because of no room for them in the East bracket (East has no room for wild cards and has 33 berths). As you can see the #5 PAC 6 will play the #2 from the Central Piedmont in the first round.

This is assuming the brackets are correct, there could be a typo...

Looks like you are correct. Typo in NCHSAA showing 26 and 6 from the west and 33 from the east.

The Freedom Patriots are 8-13 by virtue of a win they picked up when Davie County was forced to forfiet because of an ineligible player.

    From the NCHSAA

While all the WC slots are in the western bracket this year, it does not proclude teams from the east making it as a wild card team. If a team from the east has one of the five best winning percentages of all the 4A teams in the state that did not earn a confernece play-off birth, they will be selected as a WC team and placed into the west bracket.

This will change the projected bracket that is previously posted.
