If you don't like the comments, don't read them! It is a free world with a freedom of speech. THe administration and coaches would feel really bad if the players did leave. It would serve them right. There were two other candidates interviewed for the job that would have made great coaches. One has been with the program fro several years and coached the girls throught the local travel teams and has been successful. He would have made a hell of a coach for that program, because he cared for the kids and the kids and parents liked him. THe other candidate was a varisty coach at a good program. He has established himself as a quality coach by taking a program that was not very good and turning it into a great program. The administration made a mistake by looking past these two coaches. They will get what they deserve, but it will be at the expense of the girls on the team and that is a shame.

And how can you say that Anderson is one of the best coaches in the state when this will be his first time to put his stamp on a program? He has been under the direction of someone else the entire time. If he handles the girls like he did the boys he coached, he will not be liked or respected by his players.

Have you ever played for Coach Anderson? Has anyone in your family played for Anderson?

You ask every guy who played for him what their opinion is on if they liked or respected him. All will say they both liked him and respected him. I think hes the man, and I have a great deal of respect for him and I have played under him.

    no winners, but maybe whiners

You know the board is mainly to share info and stuff, not get into petty web-fights... especially considering those that want to complain will always find SOMETHING to lament over. Those that rather not deal with the whiners would be better served letting them hang themselves on their own lame comments. Either way, ANY new coach deserves a fair shake before slamming them. Just my thoughts for what it's worth.:chillpill: :chillpill: :chillpill: :chillpill: :chillpill:

You obviously have inside information as to what occurred in the hiring process. Your argument for a hiring a coach with varsity experience is valid, however one of the coaches you feel was overlooked has no varsity head coaching experience. (by your own admission) He may know the girls well, but he will still have to make the tough playing time calls that will no doubt cause the usual problems. My guess is Coach Anderson is the candidate least likely to be manipulated by the maddening crowd...

And if some of the girls leave the program, then so be it. Like you said, it's a free country.

Guys and gals...I've already had to delete one thread because we got totally away from the subject matter, lets at least keep some sanity in this thread.

    WHSHOOPSFAN,

    Here are some thoughts:
    1. Great comment: "If you don't like the comments, don't read them!" The same logic says, "If you don't like the coach, take your kid somewhere else."

    2. Comment two: "THe administration and coaches would feel really bad if the players did leave." Do you think coaches are fired when athletes in Charlotte leave for the greener football pastures of Independence. How about kids who leave college early.

    3. As Observer said, you must know a lot about the candidates who applied. You obviously aren't happy with the committee's choice. Maybe you should approach the committee, school board, parents, and Coach Anderson face-to-face about this instead of trashing the guy anonymously.

    4. For your information, varsity coaches don't just start out at the top. They start out as JV coaches and prove themselves. Anderson has proven himself as a JV coach.

    5. As far as success next year, Anderson will have a team with only three seniors, 2-3 juniors (depending if you take your daughter else where), and a bunch of sophomores. If he is competitive in conference, he will have done a good job. The real test will be his second year.

    God of Basketball,

We will see what goes on. Just hate for the girls to be caught up in this MESS! If he makes it to the first conference game, I will be sure to be posting then!
