:sifone: #4 Seed Parkland upsets #1 Seed Mooresville 8-4. Senior John Ray pitches a gem with lots of hitting by the young PHS boys. Both teams are overall very young. Expect both to make a lot of noise over the next couple years.

Yes, Foard will host Hickory. Foard was going to travel to TC Roberson but since the wild card team Hickory beat TCR, #2 seed Foard gets to host the 2nd round game.

    PTC PITCHING

Congradulations to the Piedmont triad conference with 3 of 4 teams advancing, and some great pitching performances too. Casey Smith at Glenn HS allows no runs on 4 hits in a CG, Jon Ray of Parkland HS allows 4 runs on 6 hits in a CG, and Warren Slack of SW Guilford HS allows just 2 hits in a CG shutout. PTC winning pitchers combined threw three complete games and only allowing: 12 hits, and 4 runs!! Great pitching guys keep it up in round two.

The boys from the Piedmont Triad conference were getting about tired of hearing how great the Mid Piedmont is supposed to be.

    PTC went 3-1
    MPC went 2-3
    NPC went 1-4
    SPC went 2-2

It's not like either are chopped liver. 3 teams from the mid-piedmont lost 1 run games, all on the road and placed 5 teams in the playoffs. Asheboro did well to take St. Stephens to a 1 run game. However there are no morale victories. Survive and advance.
