Well it's not like an equal number of teams from all conferences didnt have to play on the road. Ragsdale and Southeast defended home turf for the Mid Piedmont; Glenn and Southwest defended home turf for the Piedmont Triad. The difference is, Parkland went in and beat a #1 seed on the road, while the three Mid Piedmont teams who went on the road came up short.

Not saying the Mid Piedmont isnt a good conference, because it is. The Piedmont Triad often doesn't get the credit it deserves though.

Will Southeast Guilford beat Parkland in the 2nd round? I certainly hope so.

Will Ragsdale beat Southwest Guilford? Quite possibly, its probably a toss up.

I just think the Piedmont Triad made a bit of a statement in round 1, that's all.

Wossa,,,, no offense taken, this year it was just an accomplishment for us to be there. Best of luck to Ragsdale, and good to see you again.

Good point. They're both good conferences. I've never heard anone diss the Triad. How could you with SW and Glenn in the same conference. I wish SW and Ragsdale were in the same conference. Doubt it ever happens. I'm pretty sure Ragsdale goes to 4A when they shuffle in 2 years.

Rumor is Southwest is moving to 4A as well whenever it re-aligns. Who knows. I know SW and Ragsdale do start playing each other in all sports again next year during the regular season though. It's ridiculous that they haven't done it the past two years, the gates are outrageous for the two schools when they play one another.

Again, I agree with ya. They should play. When the football series fell apart someone on our side said "well if you won't play us in football then we won't play you in anything else." Egos got involved and both schools lost a big gate in every sport.

Ragsdale is already at the 4A numbers and I would be surprised if SW has not hit the numbers with all the growth in North High Point. Of course Greer will just ship some kids somewhere else.

Seeing that when they readjust they will be a few 3-A schools making that move. I would not be surprised with the increase in fuel if schedules and conferances are moved to be more local. With regards to (busing) it I think will come in to play more of a role as fuel rises. It could bring back the old days of teams close to one another battling to be the big dog with bragging rights. It would also bring some of that money back to the gates because of those bragging rights.

We have a pretty good idea where Ragsdale will be and we will be driving shorter distances.

SPC actually went 3-1, with Piedmont, Porter Ridge, and Anson winning. AL Brown was the lone loser.

You are right, blademan; my apologies. I remembered that the SPC was mainly in the top half of the western bracket and that Anson and Piedmont won in that part of the west, so since there were 2 teams there who won (Anson and Piedmont), I assumed there were two losers as well.

I totally forgot that Porter Ridge was playing down in that other section, and that they were victorious against Charlotte Catholic. My fault.
