Let us hope that those rules are followed. I would hope that they start posting all who make any state team (other sports) also. So we as a general community and otjer scouts could see before the games. It would do nothing more than make it better.

If the "big names" are not at 1 tryout, then they are not supposed to be on a team... That's what i have always been told.

I don't know this to be the case, but there may be extenuating circumstances that got prior approval by the coaches. SAT's, death in immediate family, prior practice was rained out. I dunno....but I'm sure there are certain exceptions to the rule that are made by common sense.

I believe a player only has to attend one to qualify. I remember one year due to rain they only held one tryout.

But I agree...if they don't attend, they shouldn't be selected.

Of course there are always unavoidable circumstances. Probably the reason they have 2-3 different tryouts which should allow all players the opportunity to attend at least one of them. However, if a player doesnt attend any of them - provided they were all held without cancellation, then, IMO, they should not be on the team - circumstances or no - it just wouldnt be fair to all the other players who attended.

there are only 2 tryouts. My point was that the 1st could have been rained out and the 2nd required the circumstances i suggested. I am in no way relating this to the real situation that JCCON described...just something that could happen...and did happen in '05

Hey...I'm trying to be positive here~smiling~

Braves - youre always positive - thats why I like your posts so much

this year I believe both tryouts were held for the West team - not sure about the East team - so maybe all this supposition will be moot!
