Interesting....because there are situations in Charlotte and in baseball. Not just softball and basketball.

If that is the case, then the coaches don't seem to be concerned about it being illegal. If Greeson, Bagwell, Cousar, Hignight, others knew of a player that attended their school or another illegally, it would be discussed by them and corrected immediately. There are no secrets in the baseball world in Charlotte and since I know those coaches and they share many thoughts that I never post on this board; one of them would have said something to me about an illegal player

Braves....I regret that any names were brought in to this and cant seem to find where I implied anyone specific. This was not a finger pointing expedition. I am only affiliated with this discussion because of some players that attend low ranked schools in the east part of Charlotte and barely win a game or even have enough players show up. They would be honored if some of these top players would want to come help them build a team. My apologies for any misinterpretation I rest my case in the discussion.

I'm sorry that I misunderstood. I get nervous when I (think) a thread is about to turn into something negative and personal. Usually this occurs when a rumor, gossip or hearsay is brought into a discussion. Someone always gets hurt. But I appreciate where you are coming from and I don't necessarily disagree with you. I was mostly addressing the recruiting part of this topic. Most of the coaches know about those things and they will take action quickly and decisively...but it appears to be so rare (at least in the SW4A)

The rule in the last paragraph has not always been enforced.

    problems

I'm sure almost everyone can think of a time when they felt(maybe not knew the facts) but felt that someone transferred to another school purely because of athletic reasons and maybe even because they were recruited. I think the problem is that if you put yourself in a position where with no consequences you can move from school A to school B where school B is a better athletic situation for you as far as starting, recruiting, and winning then most would probably except switching to B, therein the problem comes because you should feel something wrong with that. Compromising friendships and loyalty to transfer to another school for athletic reasons is selfish and should not be acceptable. 50 years from now you probably could care less if you got the chance to play for team B. Play for your team if your bad your just bad, try to make it better. How do teams get to the point where they are powerhouses? They have kids that stick around and care more about the team and the game than individual accomplishments. Just suck it up, take your lumps, and play your balls off to win a game that actually means something and not one that you know you won beforehand because of the offseason moves.

Problem #2-everyone knows that in some counties and school districts free transfer is allowed-even through loopholes-and in some its not, it will never be a completely fair playing surface but at least have some universal system throughout the state. The academic excuses are wearing very then and its time some problems are fixed.

I have to disagree. I did this going into my senior year. I attented the school system for 11 years and going into my senior year they had no head coach. Would they have had a head coach before the season started, yes they would. But I couldn't take that chance if they didn't get one. So I enrolled into my new school and I loved it and meet so many great people. Yea they all hate me now but I was 3-0 in the season against them and 2-0 on the mound against them. Just because someone transfers doesn't make them selfish. It is their decision whether for good or bad. My situation turned out great for me and I would do it again if I had that chance.

Transfering to another school also got me into college and play college ball. I decided to lose some friendships in order to get to the next level. Which also those friendships weren't the best to begin with so I wasn't missing out on much. They didn't like people who wanted to get better and play for a competitive team, oh well.
