Don't get your panties in a wad Thad. I was only making a statement that I expected Freedom to go far into the playoffs after having such a great season playing all those tough teams your talking about. I know after watching Alexander all the other NW4A teams were fighting for second place so congratulations on getting 2nd place. Maybe next year will be better for your lady patriots unless the school board enforces the rules and you lose Conley,Hasson,Ellis and Roberts to Patton. See you guys in November when B Ball starts.:basket:

Wallace did well at the plate....doubled i think on what appeared to be a curve ball.....Ouch! she nailed it but only one or two other sharp hit balls by McDowell this game.

remember, EG made 6 physical and recorded errors and won.

Titans pitching staff needs WORK to get more out of this talented bunch.....3 different pitchers in this 9 inning game alone, with one returning for a second stint.

Primm dominated yesterday and i think most who witnessed would agree!

This being my first year of covering softball I didn't know exactly how coaches prepared and worked their pitching staffs. For the entire season McDowell relied on two girls to pitch and they were Brown (#15) and Pendley (#3). I think there were very few games all season where either pitcher threw a complete game. The third pitcher was a freshmen who was elevated last week, she got a taste of the action a couple times. All three girls will be back next season and that along with the experience of being on a travel team should make the McDowell staff significantly stronger next season.

yes we did under estimate some but thats what people did for McDowell. The 3rd Baseman and Shortstop are solid players and EG was a great team but McDowell is a great team that just had some bumps to overcome.

Agreed, probably one of the best opening round match ups, along with Freedom vs. Providence. Its ashame teams like this have to meet in the first round, and the 4th seeded team from your conference coast to a 24-1 victory. The systems not perfect by a long shot. You do have some very good players, and your team is one of the best we've played. Maybe we will run into each other down the road next year.

Watauga lost to a well-coached Crest team. They are a great group of young ladies. Coach is a class act.

While the playoffs aren't perfect this year, some things did work out. Seems to me they need to seed teams. Keep the manner teams get in, but seed them somehow. Just doesn't seem fair that a 6-15 team gets a home game and 2 quality teams face off in the first round (which I do realize is often unavoidable).

It was a good experience for the Pioneers. We have a very young nucleus and look forward to being even more successful in the future.

Good luck to Alexander and Coach Head in the 3rd round. Keep battling!! The NW4A is behind you. I predict that AC will make it into the 4th round. :)
