Not attempting to be picky here, but baseball pitching distance is 60'6".

No need to get sarcastic...and I'm not advocating coach-pitch or baseball, just some simple improvements. Few will argue about this being a pitcher-dominated game, so if you like it that way, more power to you. I'm not sure the additional 3' will dramatically change that. Might you be the father of a DD pitcher? Or a pitching coach? Just wondering....

I think 43' is a good idea for the rubber,

just like college ball, but not being a bucket DAD , I am not sure it will help hitters , I think good pitchers will get more break --or rise on their stuff ???

Here is a picture from a game a few weeks ago, GA is in a slap defense vs TENN. Good pitchers are not giving up much in this game ! But in high school , it may not be as strong pitching from 43' = more hits and runs .

Moving the bases back. Wouldn't that give the defense to much of an advantage. The average base runner is barely able to out run a throw now. Move the bases back, there's almost no chance. Although, I do agree safety is important. Maybe split the difference. Move the bases back 5 ft and then coaches have your corners stand 3 - 5 ft behind the bag.

    It would be nice

It would be nice to have the pitching rubber the same in highschool as college and showcases but if you don't like the rest of the game as it is , I think you need to go watch baseball. It may be America,s past time but one of the most boring games around. Softball is an awesome game to go watch. Some highschool games are not always the best games because the talent is not equal but go watch 18 u gold teams play or college. If it ain't broke don't fix it.If she is scared to play the game, maybe she should take up golf or checkers.

It's not about being scared...it's about safety. And I guess I'm a purist, but I like both baseball and softball, and don't really consider either one boring all the time or even most of the time. I've seen some 18U travel games and alot of college games, and the only boring part is the low score (lack of hitting, though it has gotten better in college this year) and the constant focus on the pitchers by the announcers. I've coached both baseball and softball, and I'm not trying to ruin the softball game...just maybe open it up a little. You are very welcome to disagree.
