    Why didn't Harrington start?

My guess is they were hoping to get an inning or two in before bringing him in since he was pitching on short rest. Sounds good but not against Butler. He was their only chance at winning.

    What a Game!

I applaud AC and Dustin Harrington. It was not a fluke AC was in the 3rd round, they deserved to be here and came to play. Dustin was fearless - here's my fastball, in the strike zone, see if you can hit it (most did not). I just wonder what the outcome would have been if Harrington had started.

Butler may have played its worst game of the season and should feel fortunate to have won the game. They can hit Harrington type pitching, they can play error free ball, and they can pitch better than they showed tonight. We just didn't see it in this game. What we did see was a team that refused to give in, even when AC threatened to tie the game, the Bulldogs persevered. I hope that this will be a wake up call, because Tuesday doesn't get any easier.

    Butler 3 / AC 2

Seems like you start him and when he hits the number of pitches you set for him you pull him out. Always better to start your ace and hang on at the end if you can. The other way around never seems to work.

it seemed Butler got up 3-0 and got real sloppy....They put Harrington in and he was so different than the starter and shut them down.....As far as facing other Harrington's, maybe, maybe not...I'd still bet Butler with him starting regardless....
Butler didn't start their ace and won ...they have faced some pretty good pitchers this year and in the Spring tournament......

Not much different than Myers Park after losing to SC 2-0, talking about, whata, coulda, shouldda...

Good teams find ways to win...They didn't get Butler's best shot tonight regardless of who pitched...This was Butler's ugliest win, hopefully they'll play better against SC.....I think they will...

Coach Bagwell told me it didn't take much to stir up the AC crowd...that's an understatement. But, if an AC supporter wants to attack me for my comments, then send a private message and I will be glad to discuss it with you. But you are not going to attack me or anybody else on an open forum.

and to 007- in hindsight it wasn't worth it.
