Andrew White threw a 4 hit shutout striking out 11. Very dominant performance by White. Gotta tip the hat to the Lions. They won every facet of the game tonite. Seth Canipe and Garrett Alexander both had home runs for Shelby.

    Wow part 2

I hope you give the details. It sounds like it was a thrilling game. I'll post my personal thoughts later when I'm awake. Congratulations on a great season, Coach. I know it's not where you wanted to finish, but ...oh, what memories this team provided

    Charlotte Christian one win away

Charlotte Christian defeated #1 seed Christ School this afternoon in the semi-finals of the NCISAA 3-A State Playoffs 11-2. Soph Luke Bard pitched a complete game 1 hitter to get the win. Frosh Trey Laney hit a two run home run in the top of the first and the Knights broke the game open with an 8 run third inning.

In the first game of the best of three championship series, Charlotte Christian knocked off Forsyth Country Day 4-2. FCD beat Providence Day earlier in a semi-final match up, 13-2. Charlotte Christian got a great performance out of senior lefthander Thomas Nichols who pitched a masterful complete game with I'm guessing 10 K's. Charlotte Christian got enough offense to get the win in spite of having the bases loaded no outs and only scoring one run in the second and then having base loaded one out and again scoring only one run. They hit into inning ending double plays in both situations.

The Knights can clinch their sixth straight State Championship with a win tomorrow.

    Thanks Braves

We did have a great season going 24-5. I will miss this senior class they are a great group of guys. Chris Luck, Jon Perry, Josh Peyton and Matt Canaday. Ive coached Chris since he was 7 years old and he is like my own son. It was a really tough game to lose. It just seemed everytime we hit the ball we hit it right at them. They pitched around May twice and intentionally walked him in the 7th to load the bases with two outs. He walked three times and we never made them pay for it. It seemed down the stretch that everyone decided to go with that strategy. It really payed off for HC tonight. I give them all the credit in the world they made every play and were very well coached. All three runs we gave up tonight were unearned but the fact is they got a big hit after we made an error and that is earned. As a coach all you can ask of your players is to play as hard as they can and to play smart. When they do that and you lose you have to tip your cap to the other team. Pratt Maynard pitched a heck of a game for us as he has all year long. Its been a great year and alot of fun. Good luck to Harnett Central and congrats to them on a hard fought win.
