    Ledford vs West Lincoln

    Ledford 5
    West Lincoln 6 (8 innings)

    Corey Martin hit a walk-off Homerun in the bottom of the 8th to give the Rebels the win. West hit four homers on the night.
    Winning pitcher was Jake Watts.
    This makes the second straight year that West Lincoln has made it to the Western 2A finals.

    West Lincoln will play East Rutherford in the Western Finals starting Thursday.(Best 2 of 3 series). East Rutherford defeated Shelby 10-2.

    East Rutherford was down 2-1 in the bottom of the 4th when they exploded for 9 runs, led by Cullen Park's 2-run HR and Tyler Smith's Grand Slam. Ryan Leach pitched the complete game 2-hitter for his 9th win. East Rutherford is ranked 13th in the country by Perfect Game, 23rd by Baseball America and 23rd by Sports Illustrated. They will play WEST LINCOLN Thursday.

    ER's SCHEDULE

    East Rutherford played 7 games against 5 of the semifinalist left :
    8-1 win over 1A Cherryville
    14-4 win over 2A West Lincoln
    12-2, 5-0, 12-1 over 3A RS Central
    2-1 win over 4A South Caldwell
    0-8 loss to 4A North Davidson

    Also played and defeated North Gaston (3A) and Shelby (2A - 4 times), who lost tonight, and Crest (lost last Friday). That's a heckuva schedule, but it has paid off.

    Good Team, but I think they will have their hands full with East Rutherford, if they meet for the 2A Title.

    The will never make it past East Rutherford, I repeat never. I know they are the defending champions but they will not beat East two out of three. Write it down.
