    Thanks!

I am so excited about the Games. Great coaches, great players, and a great venue to play. It will be an event to remember!!

    Response

I heard of this site thru the grapevine and joined for the ability to express my thoughts. That is just what this is, my thoughts and observations only. I of course would be disapointed if my DD didn't make the team, I think anyone would. I just feel very strongly that there needs to be a few changes in the selection process for future years. I myself am not too worried about future years for my DD she will be playing college ball next year at a D1 school. So that makes it a little more disapointing since this was the last year for her and she had been making the All State team before when it was just a list. thanks for allowing me to express my thoughts.

    Clarification!

The All-State team or just the list as you say and the State Games are totally different situations. Hopefully your hs coach has followed the process through and nominated your daughter for All-District. If she was nominated for All-District, her name automatically goes in to the pool of names for All-State. Seems like you are getting the two confused.

It's still all political. Nice effort though.

    I AGREE WHOLE HEARTEDLY...

I agree SOFTBALLFAN46 with your post, I also do not think it was fair to all involved, to have the state team coaches deciding who made the state team! As if,they wouldn't choose the players from their HS team, first! I am not saying that those players did not belong on the team, I'm just saying that the team choosing process, was not fair for all involved! Too many factors to mention them all, that went into making this opinion! I am sure, some players didn't even bother trying out, due to who state team coaches were, and what positions they played! Maybe next year the process could be to have a panel of judges, watch the tryouts and choose the players for the team and then turn the team over to the state team coaches!
But anyway Congrats to everyone who made the state teams!

lets all try and agree that this was a great thing for our girls and remember this was the first attempt. if you have constructive thoughts as to how it might work better, please pm pop rivers and give him your suggestion. I'm sure he will listen to all who have a different outlook and take on this process. But lets not knock something as awesome as this, our girls have waited a long time for this to occur and pops needs to be given the credit. No process is ever perfect, but no change will ever be made unless a better idea is presented.:42:

And the best way to acheive this would be to JOIN the association and not only have a voice but be able to help work towards our goals. the more people that join the stronger our voice becomes with the NCHSAA.
Remember that the NCHSAA runs the all-star ganes for football, soccer and the like but not Baseball or softball Pop and many others put in many days of hard work to get the association and games off the ground. And I thank them. Dont just complain about it if you really want to help make it a stronger and better program its easy. Just get involved.

    Won't Happen...

Excellent post, Dawgfan.....unfortunately, it takes too much effort for people to get involved. It's much easier for them to sit on their hands and complain...more fun for them, too!

CONGRATS to all the girls who made the rosters and THANK YOU PopRivers for putting it all together. It's sure to be a BLAST!!!
