The playoffs leading up to the championship round got a lot of build up on this forum. Seems there's been very little post-finals discussion / comments.

Not much to say about the Walnut Creek final four round in each classification?

I am still on cloud nine , our convoy painted the windows and blowed the car horns most of the way to Chili's to celebrate .I went to town this morning and bought six newspapers for keepsakes and would have got more but I ran out of dollars and when I was driving home I cried every time I looked down at the front page and saw Anna hugging Brittany .I'm crying right now talking about it . I'm so danged happy for these six seniors ,they finally did it !!!
I know some of the SWR players are on here ,Thank you so much for working so hard at every practice and begging for more balls after practice was over alot of days and laying it all on the line at state's .
The 2007 SWR Cougars are state champs and that will never change.

Congrats to SWR for achieving their goals. Sounds like good old fashioned hard work played a part?

Again, let's not throw Kings Mtn. under the bus. Their coaches and players worked hard, too. SWR saw the target, and headed straight for it. Great focus ladies!

    Talent Baby Talent

My DD has played with a few of the girls and there is a ton of talent on that ball team...I told one of the parents 2 weeks ago that they would win the 3A,and if he didn't I would buy him lunch anywhere he wanted to go. Nobody has said anything negative about Kings Mt.,Morgan Childers is a great pitcher, and should go a long way, but teams are learning to discipline themselves from the rise ball, and if that is her best effective pitch that won her the previous titles, she might want to perfect the drop ball also...that is Maness' weapon..she has got a awesome drop ball that is DEADLY !!!!

Congratulations to SW Randolph, the girls on that team played mistake free ball, and that is what it takes when you get to the Creek. You have a Great team and deserved to win it all. Enjoy the success, because not everyone knows the feeling that you have now. It is a Great Feeling. Again, Congratulations from K.M.

    Chapel Hill?

I'd like to know about the Chapel Hill team. These girls essentially played the "western powers" even. Evidently the pitcher does not play travel ball. What about the SS? That kid made some great plays. I thought this team's performance was the most surprising performance on the postive side. On the negative end I thought North Davidson would show more offense.

Thanks CFP44 ,KM is a class act and SWR felt that the first game with them this year would determine the State Champion , thats how we felt last year also , we had so much respect for Childers that we devoted 90% of our last week of practice to being able to put Childers ball in play, we didn't think about any game but the KM game and it took everything we had and alot of luck to get that win , KM came ever so close to getting that 2nd run in regulation that probably would have put them in the drivers seat to the Three Peat , lets hope we get to do it again next year
