On slapping, is "out of box" ever called?

    It is all about disruption of timing...the slapper is trying to hit the ball while excellerating to top speed. The distance from the top of the left hand batters box to first base is just over 56'... a right handed batter is actually running 62+ feet, depending where she is the box. That's why you turn around the speed kids........

    a slapper is successful when she puts the ball in play while she is at or close to her top speed. As a defense, we want to disrupt every advantage she has. Throw inside, take away the top of the box..
    offspeed, make her adjust her hand / eye coordination. Present the ball in different planes, up - down -left -right. A slappers best attribute is her ability to put her hands and bat at the proper angle, thus knocking the ball down... Force her to change her hands at contact. Slapper are agressive by nature...use that to your advantage

    Change up would be an effective pitch... so would a curve ball thrown inside at her hands,.. as would a rise ball or screw... it is all about the sequence and deception....
