    Post NC high school and college players here on draft day.
    In the meantime, let's hear some predictions.
    Baseball America lists 5 NC high school players in the top 200 draft-eligible prospects and six others who are expected to be drafted later.
    My prediction;
    they completely missed John Hinson (ACR) who will go in the first 5 rounds but was not on either list.

    Who were the five players or the other two after Bumgarner, Jackson and Runion?

    BA probably doesn't want the names circulated but...

    one was from Providence, the other from St. Stephens.

    What's Quincy Lattimore's (Middle Creek) draft status? There was a large buzz about him heading into this school year but I didn't hear much of him this spring.

    Any word?

    Tyrell Worthington of South Central is expected to go between rounds 4-12.

    I'm guessing those two players would almost have to be David Mailman of Providence High School(who always delivers) and Patrick Johnson from St. Stephens.

    NC players

    Bumgardner , Jackson , Runion , Luck , Mailman , Lattimore , Worthington are projected to go in this order from NC. Hinson and Rothlin its my understanding have let it be known they want to go to college so they may not be picked at all or if so will be late picks. I have been told Luck will go somewhere between the 4th and 7th rounds. But as we all know that can change depending on how the picks go ahead of him and who does what.

    be patient

    In baseball unlike other pro sports, it takes so long after a player is drafted (even in the 1st or second round) to make any impact with a major league team.

    I think Hinson will be drafted possibly in Round 5 or 6. He is one of the best high school hitters I have seen play the game. Also has very good speed on the base paths.

    In a recent Asheville Citizen article, Hinson indicated that he was looking forward to the draft. I think the two Clemson guys who want to go to college are Rothlin and Poovey.
