Coach Or Parent---Which Do You Prefer ??

If somebody surveyed you on the above topic....how would you respond ???

 

Don't know.....

Parent because you can bitch about the coaching and umpiring

Coach because if a parent is a pain in the butt then you can sit the kid!!

Parent-Parent-Parent, I coached for about three years and beleive me it's alot better sitting behind the fence. Coaches have way toooo much ----- stuff from parents, because everybody's dd is either a ss, 2nd, or a pitcher. Without a coach i don't guess we would even have outfielders. To all the coaches out there " MY HAT IS OFF TO YOU "

You make my point about coaches...

Is it fair to sit a kid, for a parents actions?
Do you throw a parent out of the park, if a kid makes a mistake? (I didn't ask if you wanted too)
Does a coach get fired, when a player makes a mistake?
Do you punish 3rd base when 1st base makes a mistake?
Do you punish the players on the bench, when a player in the game makes a mistake?
Do umpires get replaced when a coach doesn't agree with their call?

If you answered YES to ANY of the questions above, You Should NOT be a coach!!!!!

This is the exact thing I keep trying to get people to understand!
Just because you have the power, doesn't mean you should use that power for bad!

Parent, because I have never had more fun, or felt such PRIDE, than while watching my DD play ball as a little girl through the years and watching her evolve into a young lady playing ball and heading to college to play ball! WOW what a fantastic ride!

 

I love ya man we just disagree sometimes but that's what makes tbr so good !

Hey W. it really was great weekend to spend time with you talking about softball and our kids...GIRLS are a different breed than boys,but are tough as nails...boys couldn't play 5-7 games a day.... girls have more stamina than boys...maybe that's why they have babies.....

 

I've got to be carefull about what i say i have a 19 yr old son

I have really enjoyed myself this year sitting back and just doing score or sitting with friends. I stepped down from coaching after 4 tournaments this year because you can't please everyone. I am honored to have met great coaches(hopefully friends) as well as parents. I only wish that some parents would coach just one tournament in their life to see what it's like.
