Wednesday evening: Lexington 17 High Point 6 (I think)

Played at the Hi-Toms park. Impressive power display by Post 8 who hit 7 bombs: 2 each by Daniel Kassouf, Alex Grubb, & Matt Tysinger....1 by Jay Yount. One by a HP player (sorry, no name). WP Burkhart

Remember the name Alex Grubb. He just completed his sophmore year at West Davidson. This kid is a beast. Big lefty outfielder. He's batting around .500 with 7 HR (I think) already this legion season. He's got DI pop in his bat. If he keeps progressing he could be one of the all timers at West Davidson and Lexington Post 8.

Thursday night: Lexington 13 Surry 7

?? Pilcher gets the win in relief. Jay Yount gets the gold star: Hit for the cycle (plus another single).

You want to talk about an unbelievable lineup, Post 8 has got it. When a guy who doesn't even play every day goes 5-for-5 and hits for the cycle, man. Grubb, Roach and Frank in the outfield, with Yount playing at least every other day. If Hunt, Sechrest and Watson pitch like they can, this team could very well win a state title.

I was at the Rowan County Randolph County game in Rowan County. It was my 1st chance to attend a legion game at Rowan and I loved it. Great baseball atmosphere at Catawba College
