Players come in all levels of talent. Thats a fact. If a kid gets hurt, tries to get better, attends practice, then comes back for 3 or 4 games and at her 80% level, spanks around the opposition, DAMN right, she's ALL-DISTRICT. As for the majority of of players, who, God bless them, are at best above average, and their folks think that everybody who thinks that their kid is not the heat, will always fall into the BIG pool of really good ballplayers. No slander here, just facts. As hard as it is parents, your expectations of your DD may outweigh their true talent level. ALL-XYZ team stuff is when the mamas and daddys keeping the book start crying. If your DD is deserving of accolades, they will come. We all hope the best for our kids. Mamma's DD took over the pitching dutie's after all-xyz went down early in the season and was only one run away in an extra inning game from leading her team to the third round in the playoff's , she is under rated if anything

Thanks for the comment DJ. I am not really upset over the fact the MY DD did not make the team, but just that it did not go to someone who stepped up and filled a void to continue the season. It seems like it happens waaaaay to often that these honors only go to the coach's golden child no matter what their contributions during the year.

I know your DD and think she is a charming, wonderful little lady. She is the EPITOME of what I'm saying here. A player who works her tail off, does all she can to help in any way, and when awards are thrown out, somehow DDs, who really do deserve some press, or positive reinforcement get left out. To this ol Marlin, Duckgirl is as gold as gold can be.

Don't have any kids...yet... but believe me when I do, I'll know the right people to get her on a team. Its not how good you are, just who you know.

Take a look at the All-Observer teams. They aren't any different. Its all political.
