High Point beat Winston Salem 11-10 and 12-8 yeterday

High Point is now 5-3 overall and 4-2 in league play, after a 3-21 season last year.

Kannapolis no doubt lost a lot of players from last year's 33-10 team; however, with tonights win over South Rowan,,, Kannapolis is sitting 6-2 in the league having only lost to frontrunners Rowan County and Lexington.

Great job guys,,, think your surprising some folks...

    Mocksville-Wilkes

Ryan Carter (15 yr old rising junior) pitched the entire 9 innings for the complete game shut-out. He only gave up 4 hits. Carter went 3-4 with a homer, double and a single. Brent Beam went 5-5 with 4 doubles, and Ryan Hellard (back-up catcher) went 3-4.

This was Carter's second start for the senior team, the other being 6 inning's against Mooresville, and he has only given up 1 unearned run (to Mooresville).

    WP: Ryan Dull (1-0)
    SV: Jason Bixby

Great ball game on both sides. Ryan Dull and Jonathon Smith both pitched 7 innings and were battling each other pitch for pitch. Smith only gave up one run and got a no decision. Dull gave up 2 runs in the 3rd and the bats of Kernersville came alive for 2 in the top of the 8th to give Dull the win and Jason Bixby came in the 8th and shut down High Point for the save.

its not the amount of innings so much as the amount of pitches he threw.

throwing a shutout and only giving up 4 hits , i would think he didnt throw all to many pitches at all...

    State Games

Rowan County has four players selected from East Rowan that will be at the State Games over the next few days. They are as follows: Trey Holmes (P/1B), Micah Jarret (3B), Justin Roland (SS), and Corbin Shive (P/OF). Could effect things in the next few days.
