Congrats to Coach Gregory for getting the job. He could have a decent team or one that even Hibriten will look forward to playing. It really depends on what the school board decides on the athletic appeals. There are 6 ladies that I know of that play at Freedom from the Patton district- Emmie , Brooke, Jasmine, Kelly, Laura, Caroline . They would be decent enough to be a middle of the pack team in the CVAC . If the appeals go through then he isn't going to have alot to go on. From what I hear only 2 or 3 players currently at Freedom is planning to attend Patton . Freedom would still have plenty to work with even if all these players have to go to Patton . Truth be known only Laura would be the one player that they couldn't replace. I am NOT saying the other ladies aren't good players, as they definitly are but there are other players at Freedom with similar skills. Should be an interesting summer for Coach Gregory!

Will the other 4 or 5 players that live in the Patton district but chose to stay at Freedom have to sit out 1 year??

    penalty

If the school board will approve their athletic appeals then they will be able to play without losing a year. I personally think that the policy isn't fair as it only applys to athletes. If you're in the band, ROTC, debate team, etc... then you're not penalized so in that respect it only hurts athletes. If they have any hope of a scholarship then sitting out a year could really hurt their chances. What I really was getting at is the difference in the quality of the team Patton would have if all these players went to Patton instead of Freedom. The difference being a team that would compete and win maybe half their games or one that would be little more than a bad JV team that will be blown out almost every game. Bottom line... Freedom would do fine without these players but Patton would start out the first couple of years as a doormat. If your trying to build a tradition is that the one you want?
