Most legion ballparks have great concession food (much better than HS games for whatever reason),,,, anyway since many legion fans also routinely drive 30 minutes or more on a nightly basis going to games during the summer,,,,, some have mentioned great places to get the best BBQ or the best footlong hotdog. So if you will help the HUNGRY, please share what restaurant is famous near your home ballpark so that us out-a-towners will make a point to stop in for a bite before the game.

Lexington is known for its great Lexington BBQ on Bus85,,, South Rowan has the great Gary's BBQ on Hwy29 just off Int.85,,, Kannapolis has homestyle cookin at our famous Townhouse II Restaurant on Hwy29-A (just outside Kann towards Concord),,,, what are some other favorite eaten joints that folks should stop at when coming to your place?

Definitely would like to hear about other places around the state. Thanks...

And keep in mind, folks like NPCFanatic may want to stop at 2-3 different places  ,,, so if you have more than one, thats fine... :biggrina:

    VillageIdiot,,, you won't do. :rifle:

Actually I stopped and ate some great seafood in Mooresville over on the other side of town from your ballpark, out 150 on the right. Would that be Big Daddy's?

I never pass up a chance to stop at Bridge's Barbeque Lodge when I'm in Shelby-Land (check out the woodpile out back).

As I stated in a previous post, Jay Bee's World Famous Foot-Long Hot Dogs (Highway 64 / Mocksville Highway) is a neat place to stop when you go up to Statesville to face Mike Grant's Owlz. Jay Bees has about 20 kinds of hot-dawgs (I like the 1/4 pounder Ballpark Dawg - "ALL-THE-WAY"). Jay-Bees also has angus-beef burgers and other sammiches. Drive-thru or take-out. A place called Glutton's near the Signal Hill Mall has the best Reuben Samich I've ever had (it's called "The Statesville Rube"). They say that the Carolina Bar-B-Que in Statesville is good but I've never tried it. Ditto for the steaks at The Black Angus downtown.

Since Concord is playing their games at Central Cabarrus HS this year, I would recommend folks to go up Hwy49 from Central's ballpark away from Charlotte about a mile, take (first exit under bridge) Hwy601 toward Concord about 100 yards to Troutman's BBQ on left.

... or one of mine and VillageIdiot's favorites,,, from Central Cabarrus HS go back towards Charlotte about 1/2 mile, turn right on Old Charlotte Rd. and the world famous What-a-Burger is another 1/2 mile on your left.
