I think alot of times we take things for granted and I for one would like to say that my dd plays on the lady blues 14u and it is by far the best organization, best group of parents, and the greatest group of girls that my dd has ever played with. I want to say thanks for all the time and effort put in by the coaches and what a great job you have done with this group. Thanks to all the coaches that take time and sometimes money out of their own pocket to help someone elses kids. To all of you THANKS !!!!

    burlington

My dd played up with the 18u's in burlington this weekend and I wanted to say thanks to all the girls and coaches for makeing her feel comfortable and like she was part of that team. I was worried that a riseing 9th grader wouldn't fit in but these girls really made her feel at home. Like I said earlier what a great organization !!! :52:

    Perplexed

Why is a rising 9th grader playing on a 18u team? (fast track?)
In an organization that has such a great reputation, you'd think they would have any number of 16, 17 yr olds lined up to get a place on the team!
    Don't understand, please explain:thinking2:

They had several players playing in the east-west games, they brought her up to play one tournament to see how she would do. You got one thing correct, it is a organization with a great reputation that gave one of their younger players a chance ONE weekend.

    Hmm...

    Catchers_dad:
This young lady plays for me....

First, as LDFRDGUY said above, many of the 18 pitchers were involved in the State Games this past weekend.

The 16u team was also playing in an ASA qualifier down in Summerville last weekend and I don't think the 18U coach would have been very fair had he asked for one of those pitchers to fill in, making them weaker....we were off getting ready for our next tourney and it worked out....

But this isn't your typical 14 year old kid. She is mature beyond her years, she works harder than any kid I personally have ever been around at the pitcher spot, and she has a mom and dad who totally support her, good or bad, and keep her grounded.

She didn't get too many chances to pitch last weekend, faced 7 batter, 3k's, no runs, and only one base runner, a bb. She can pitch with anybody. No fast track needed.

As a matter of fact, her parents made the decision that she stay on a 14/16 combination team because socially she had so much in common with our other kids. They didn't choose to just push her on through. It has to be a great experience or what is the use?

As far as the reputation the guy who runs our organization has created for the Blues, it is 100% his doing and is deserved. He works harder for kids than anybody could know.
