    Game 2 Score

West wins 2nd game 1-0. Sounds like it was a great game. Ashton Ward sacrifices go ahead run with bases loaded. Danielle Glosson starts game with Morgan Childers finishing up. Brittany Furr ends game with a double play.

Hope someone will post more details of both games.

    Thanks for the memories

First of all I would like to thank Pop Rivers for this brain child. Next the members of the State Games folks for helping to make this happen. Then to a close friend for helping me coach in this game in Coach Monte Sherrill. Also help from Chief Billy Gerald. The university of UNC Greensboro for one of the nicest places to play and watch a game. But most of all to a special group of Senior girls from the WEST Team who are taking their talents to the here after in College. This kids are not only great ball players but great people as well. They were a great group who bonded together and pulled for each other during these games. Thanks for driving the miles for the tryouts, practices, and the games. It was great just having the oppurtunity to be on the field with these kids. The ability level of this group of Seniors was second to none. It was as close to coaching or being associated to an Olympic team as I will ever get. Thanks girls for the great smiles, attitudes, and outstanding plays. I hope everything goes well for all of you in the future. I'm sure it will be because it is going to be definitely brite for each one of you. If I can ever help please just ask.May God Bless you All. Thanks Coach Mike Lambros

Covington, Woodall, McKinney, Rappe hitting and watching Kelli Michaels lay it out(defense and offense) were some of the highlights!!

not knocking NCSU or Carolina but how did they miss out on the three amingo pitchers from the West...Ward(UT), Childers(USC-Upstate) and Glosson(Southern Illiniois)?

    ??

I recall reading something about a conflict w/ TB, and this is not a complaint just an observation..............
with all the buildup, tryouts, practices, etc, etc.....shouldn't there be more games in the senior all-stars? maybe best 3 of 5 over a 2-day period or maybe choose 4 teams and play for at least 2 or 3 days?
I guess the Thursday only format was due to other obligated TB somewhere?

but definitely a good start to this process and I know the ones in charge will work to make it even better going forward.
