For those outside of Cabarrus County,,, Mt.Pleasant is a 2A school in the outskirts of the county, good community, with absolutely beautiful baseball facilities. In fact, current high school can't be more than 10-15 years old, beautiful setting. MP baseball has had some very good years recently and as Countryboy17 stated, they always seem to have baseball talent for some reason. The question the MP administration will have to ask themselves is the same question they were faced with several years ago when Gary Swanson left,,,,,,, will they go out and get a "baseball" person to be their coach and keep their program doing well,,, or will they just give the job to the first math teacher who expresses an interest.

Best of luck to those around the MP program...

Watch out there tj21. There are plenty of people who could be considered "baseball" men who teach math.

I am just joking with you there tj21. I am just standing up for all us math teachers who coach baseball.

I hope the coaching search goes well. Every team no matter what the level or talent pool deserves a coach who loves and understands the game while at the same time pushing kids to be the best they can academically and athletically.

Ya gotta understand, Coach. tj is just jealous because he never took math in school. He dropped out after the 2nd guzinta's. You know 2 guzinta 4 two times...but don't be fooled by him. He knows how to count money...like a carnival lady at the ticket booth

You hit the ball, you catch the ball and you throw the ball. Math = 4 balls, 3 strikes and 3 outs.
oops, I guess you need to be able to figure your BA, OBA and ERA! :19:

This reminds me of a story. I won't mention the kids name because many of you may know him.

He was a pitching machine. FB,FB,FB...curve. His FB would hit 94 at times. Well, anyway, he was pitching in this select tournament when after 3 outs were made, his teammates were jogging into the dugout...but he was still on the mound. When asked why he didn't come in with his teammates, he said, " I don't keep up with the outs. I don't come off the mound til the umpire tells me there are 3". Kids....ya gotta luv 'em!

BTW, this pitcher is playing pro ball

Sorry CoachSnead,,,, didn't mean to step on toes. Unfortunately though its pretty obvious some schools hire "baseball" people to be baseball coaches,,,,,, and then some schools just give the job to a teacher already on staff, who hardly knows where first base is... :ack2:
