    Dirtbag 18's

I was asked to come down to Georgia for a week and coach the Dirtbag 18's. How could anyone not want to coach these guys?

Seth Simmons got the start and went three innings and gave up one hit and no runs. Pratt Maynard pitched the fourth and fifth and gave up one hit and no runs. Patrick Johnson pitched the sixth and Trent Rothlin the seventh. Final tally was 2 hits no runs for the game. All these guys did an outstanding job against a quality team.

Jeff May got the offense going in the third inning with a double in the rcf gap. Cody Stanley then singled moving the runner to third. Pratt Maynard then singled in a run and was thrown out at second base (?) of course I thought he was safe. Tyler Hanover then mashed a ball off the fence in left field for a double and we plated 3 runs in the third. Aaron King drove in a run in the 5th on a single up the middle and we scored another run on a balk call later in the game.

We play our second game of the opening round of pool play tomorrow at 11:30. Mr McBride will be on the hill for the Dirtbags. I looked out on the field when the game started and it was kind of fun. 1b Mike Knox (UNC) 2b Tyler Hanover (LSU) SS Matt Hamlett (Boston College) 3b Greg Holt (UNC) Left Field Jason Wallace (APP State) Center Field David Mailman (Wake - Red Sox) Right Field Aaron King (Surry CC) Catcher Jeff May (South Granville). Then of course we bring in Cody Stanley Catcher (UNCW) , Seth Simmons on the hill (ECU) Pratt Maynard (South Granville) Patrick Johnson (UNC) and close with Trent Rothlin (Clemson).

Even I couldnt screw this one up!!!

Coach 27, you need Coach Ronnie Alston to get you through this week, right? I just have a hunch.
