    New to the boards...

Question for you - Why would softball suffer b/c Lloyd has been hired as the football coach? And if you aren't that interested in football then you sure have been on here quite a bit rallying for other coaches besides Lloyd? Make up your mind! You are right - football gets a great deal of attention because it is the largest money making sport at most schools. You are making a huge assumption by saying that the softball team or other girl's sports will suffer because they've put so much time into selecting a football coach to try to boost the program. Let me remind you that ALL sports benefit from the money generated at football games. Yes, most teams have to raise their own funds - so does football. I mean, you are comparing apples to oranges here...if you want to pick a fight then think about - the football program technically is the only program that has the opportunity to generate major funds - why wouldn't a school put a lot into getting a good coach? You are right...some schools only worry about their football programs but I do not see that as the case here. Change is never easy but inevitable my dear....

I would also think that with Coach Grayson stepping down that she's had a HUGE say in who takes her place. I could be wrong but I don't think that she would allow just anyone to take over the program that she and her coaches have built at KM. Whomever takes over will have some big shoes to fill but they will also inherit an outstanding program with tradition. I doubt that the football team will overshadow what has been done for KM softball - I don't even think those are the intentions of anyone.
