Burke county waving transfer restrictions

    Point of interest...burke co. has been waiving the transfer restrictions for students that do not want to attend Patton the new HS. They ok'd 10 out of 13 students friday. Hopefully this will continue because these students deserve the right to play for their school and their coach. Freedom has a solid softball program and I for one am glad they get to keep key players. Even if they are the competition for us at EB. Congrads.

    Two of the three students denied are on the Freedom Varsity softball team and one was on the JV softball team. Two also play varsity basketball.

    That is totally unfair. If they are going to waive for some then they need to do the same for ALL players. burke co. board needs to wake up, it IS an election year!!!
