    Good series of shows to tape, and use as guides for young player, coaches and parents......

    But will girls actually watch?

    Most research suggests not. Teenage girls, for the most part, will not watch sports on TV (even their own sport). This is part of the problem coaches encounter with young players. One of the ways guys learn about sports is watching others play (Anyone reading this old enough to have imitated Juan Marichal's leg kick?). Girls come to field not having imagines to imitate. They also don't understand the language of the game or the rules. Many college players will not even watch a game involving potential opponents as they have no appreciation for actually learning (scouting) from the experience. We could have a long debate about the reasons for girls' disinterest but there is no debate that TV programmers and advertisers know the apathy is there.
