    2 Great Games

The Cobras knew they would be facing the Cardinals somewhere along the line if they intended to play in the last game. Two great games were played in the finals with the last game ending around 9:30PM. The games seemed to hindge on the Cardinals long ball and the Cobras defense and short game. The games were played fast for the most part as it was a very intense battle. Their were several outstanding defensive plays in both games by both teams. The Cobras have been looking forward to playing the Cardinals this summer. It is truly a measuring stick to how you perform against them. And people notice. Look around when the Cardinals are playing in a showcase, their games draw a lot of college coaches. So take advantage of the oppurtunity when you are playing the Cardinals. Even though this was a tournament and not a showcase, several college coaches attended. That is the respect you get when playing the top ASA teams. I know my DD really enjoyed the games and came away with blood, sweat and a lot dirt, but no tears because both teams gave everything they had. Good luck Cardinals, Cobras, Lady Blues and Triangle Lightning. Has four teams ever been to the ASA Nationals before? I hope we all meet in the final 4.

    4 GREAT TEAMS

Good Luck to all four teams. NC wishes them the best and a NC final four would be great no matter who wins it all.

Congratulation to the Cardinals on their win and thanks to the Cobras for two great games. (By the way, my daughter, who is 18, was one of the three college girls that played for Mr. Chandler and this is her third year playing for the Cardinals so I am sure he knows her name by now) He is a wonderful person and coach. The Cobras are a great team and will surely go far in the nationals.

Once a Cardinal aways a Cardinal

These "ringors" as some may call them have always been Cardinals. They are on the Rooster until they age out. I don't see what the big deal is. Nothing to cry over that I see. GUYS, This was an 18U tourney not a SHOWCASE tournament.
I can say, Knowing coach Ray, He is the fairest/kindest coach I've ever been around.... Period.... He defineately doesn't deserve any of these classless posts directed towards him... He was even fair with annoucing the players names. He just went down the line up top to bottom... Again 'What's the BIG deal?" He loves his girls and knows all their names,,, all 20+years worth of Cardinal names!!!
Doesn't matter what age or whether you've played college ball before. The very few players that were on the bench could have stepped into the games at anytime and the Cardinals would have still won the games from what I heard. Actually, I aslo believe the Cardinal speedsters where not at this tourney and have not played college ball yet. Might be a blessing that they missed it and you guys only faced the Cards' BIG sticks!!!

BTW: Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't there a 15 year old in coach Ray's Line-up that played both Championship games complete??

    15 v 15, Sutton, Crist, BIG HITTERS....

I think thats great. Theres another 15 yr. old, McKenzie Creech who shut down the mighty Cards, yes "the speedy and the BIG, twice only to lose in the 6th, grandslam by Gus that might still be flying through the sky and once again in the 6th , but far less dramatic. Take ZERO from the Cards, they're a strong bunch. McKenzie faced the strong and did well. Welcome to TBR Ship Pirate.

    ???

Maybe I'm a little slow. I don't know where all this came from? I've been just an observer for a while on here. The comments about Coach Chandler I found Hidious and had to chime in. To say things like that about someone who has done so much for our sport in this state is just plain ignorant!!!

Not sure who Creech, Gus, or Sutton is but sounds like they are pretty good ball players. What teams are they on? I see Sutton is a Card on their website..

    uhhhh, what?

From your post it appears you know who all of the Cards are. Its OK to lash out when you read an entry that you disagree with. Pardon me for my boldness. It seems to come out now and then.

    True

I do know most of the Cardinal players and most of the players from several staes. I'm just trying to remember playing in these particular games u spoke of???. I can't remember what team the Creech girl would be on or place her? The Guss kid has hit several grandslams this summer, I heard her dad say she hit her 49th and 50th HR. Sun. in Florence.
