Garner Post 232 was winning 5 - 0 after 2 1/2 innings when Mother Nature interrupted the game. Garner was to return to Millbrook to complete game tomorrow night but Coach Barbour received a phone call on the drive home. It appears N. Raleigh doesn't want to finish the game, conceding this round to Garner Post 232. Garner will play the winner of the Apex/Cary game which was surely interrupted also by the weather.

They weren't going to 'finish" the game. The game was to start over. This is not tournament ball. Of course, if North Raleigh isn't interested in playing anyway....

    N. Raleigh only dressed 10 players. Shouldn't Legion teams have more than 10 players on their team?

I imagine when Coach Barbour said finish the game he meant Post 232 was going to finish off N. Raleigh.

In the past, suspending games may have been done even if the rules say otherwise. This is because we had incompetent people at the helm making up things as they went. Wayne County had a suspended game with Pitt 39, and the commissioner gave both teams losses.

This is not the case with the current boss. A playoff game is the same as a regular season game.

    NO HE WOULD NOT!

Coach Barbour has his head on straight. He would never stoop so low as to do as you say. Respect is earned on the field. Respect gained on the field has nothing to do with winning the game or losing it. When a team has a coach like Moe, who truly knows from experience what I'm saying here, that team will be on top of their game or at least work their butts off to get there. Either one, they will win and lose with class.

    Classy post marlinfan.

If a team says "No More", then the series is over.

Apex/Cary were ppd 7/17 in Apex and will start over 7/18 in Apex (Apex HS).

    Post 232 awaits the winner.

No need to start sour grapes in this thread!!

The Cary/Apex game will be played at Cary HS (not Apex HS) on 7/18 at 7PM...

    low #'s

I think that Benson only had 10 or 11 dressed for their final playoff game. Heard that several players had quit. I saw some players obviously playing out of position.

Legion ball is all about who wants it more at this point in the season. That's why you see the same teams advance in the playoffs each summer. Kids quit and want to go to the beach rather than win baseball games.

Apex should be the home team tonight even though the game is at Cary.
