    Now that is a Statistic!!

Reynolds Rock 23, Now that is an impressive statistic!!! Warden, sorry about getting the Kincaid kick wrong, but I swear the WBRM guy said, Kincaid kicked it. That memory stuck with me all year because I was so shocked when the announcer said that because I didn't believe it when I heard it on the radio. He probably just missed who was kicking because he was used to seeing Kincaid kick.

Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
I don't think that is unreasonable, with what they have coming back, and a JV team (4-2, 6-4) that finished 2nd last year it's not impossible for them to finish 3rd.

No I think it is very realistic. Kincaid returning for his senior year and most of the o-line back and the J.V. team that had only 4 losses last year. Throw out an early season loss to R.S. Central and the J.V. lost three games by the combined score of 10 points. All of that should get McDowell to the upper half of the conference if they avoid injuries and execute. Third or fourth is where they should finish. And who knows what luck might come along?

They should be much improved don't get me wrong, i picked them 4th. And 3rd is not out tof the question if they can steal a game here and there. But this poll is who will win the NW4A and it is a little surprising for me to see 1 in 10 people predicting them to win the conf.

    The Finish

Honestly though, if somebody would have told me that Watauga and SC were going to finish like they did last year, I would of had my doubts. I have my doubts about McDowell, but they have a few athletes this year and some returning players and probably the best player they have had there in a generation. I really think they may be solid this year. That being said far better teams have made prognosticators look like bigger idiots in the past. I just really think they could be a playuoff team this year, if everything works out as far as injuries, luck, schedule, and confidence.

I don't think anyone saw Watauga coming last year, and I think McDowell looses any surprise factor, like what the pioneers had last fall because of all the hype. But I do think they have a legit shot at being a 2nd round playoff team. Thier schedule will not favor them however. In conference alone they make road trips to Asheville to play ACR, always an intimidating place to go, but it will also be senior night for the Rockets, not ideal if you're McDowell. Also they have a trip up to Boone to play Watauga, on the Pioneers homecoming night. Niether of those will be easy games for McDowell to steal.

    Schedule

I didn't realize McDowell had to play both of those games away. That is a tough break. I believe in homefield advantage.

That is ok. Those are two games they probably cant "steal" anyway. In the meantime everyone else with the exception of South Caldwell comes to McDowell. So they could (With luck and execution) finish 4-2 in the conference.

South shouldn't be much of a problem for McDowell this year, 4-2 seems very attainable. Who do the Titans play non NW4A?
