"Village" is right. This has been a great series to follow in the paper, on the radio, and in person the past two nights. It's had more twists and Turns then the roads in the NC mountains. You have two of the top teams in the state going 7 games. I can't wait to follow the action in Garner next week when 6 other teams are thrown into the mix.

    Ejections and Suspension

This is from the American Legion Department of North Carolina handbook:
"Coaches will automatically be suspended for one game. Coaches will be allowed to attend the next game, not in uniform, and must be at least 100 feet from the team's dugout. No type of communicationwith the dugout or team will be allowed. No cell phones or any type of electronic devices will be allowed. Any violation of this rule will be a 5 day suspension."

There is no mandatory suspension on players!

"Any person ejected from a ballgame by an umpire will automatically be reported to the Area Commissioner by the Athletic Officer of that team and the Chief Umpire for diciplinary review and disposition of disipline prior to the next scheduled game...."

In other words player suspension is at the discretion of the Arrea Commissioner.

If Garner is the weakest team in the field... Wow, what a tournament.

Garner is not the same team they were in the regular season (they did beat Randolph County pretty good during the reg. season though) but they will be tough to deal with in this tourney.

Biggest Question for me: Will Randolph County have any gas left next week? 14 playoff games in 15 days!?

This is a strong field, but who is Garner better than? I think you have to say they are the weakest (or maybe not the strongest is a better way to put)......but they are playing on their home field. I don't think Trojan Park gives them as big as an advantage as Rowan or Cherryville would have if the tourney was on their home field. Rowan, Cherryville, Randolph, will have more fans at the tourney than Garner will based on the 2001 (I think I remember right) that was held at Garner.

Randolph isn't the same team either. Randolph wasn't first place in Northern Division Area III until about 1/2 way through the season. Randolph is a monster of a team. They mash the ball. It is ridiculous that they and Rowan have to play a 7 games series. How do you get 14 games in 15 days, however? Randolph should have Sat., Sun, Mon, and Tues off.

Randolph has played two tough 7 gamers in a row vs. the city of Charlotte (S. Rowan & Rowan). It will be interesting to see how they respond against Garner or Morehead in a 1 game setting.
