I believe they'll respond ok in a 1 game setting against anybody. 4 days off and ace Justin Yow will have almost 2 weeks off.

We thought that Morehead City would run out of gas last year when they had all of those extra inning games in the 100 degree heat.....they still took a double header from Caldwell County and won the states anyway....so you never know (that's baseball fer ya) :scooter:

Alright, I am sorry that I said that this morning, I should have known the rules, somebody told me that this was the rule for both coaches and players. As for you fpfanatic, the whole whoop whooop thing that is done between switching pitchers is a Newman Park thing and usually everyone does. It is just for fun and everybody likes it. It's fun to mess with the catcher when they fake you out. Randolph had fans who were coming and sitting down on the visitor side on purpose like they were trying to intimidate us. Well you didn't. Look, I'm not trying to start a big stink, BUT Bob Beason does not like Rowan. I promise you. Pritchard was griping about balls and strikes all night and getting so flustered, the ump was bad on both sides, everybody knows that. Bunting flipped off the umpire after he struck out. I don't think the umpire saw that but somebody did. Also, anytime Randolph's players would strike out or do something to get out, they would sling their bats and helmets across the field. The coach should not let his players do that. It was just a big circus. Yes I think the umpire should have warned him if he didn't, but he cannot show up the ump like that.

I know that Randolph should have had a game off between these series, but that was not the ruling and Rowan has nothing to do with that. Another example of why Beason is a terrible commisioner. He said that he didn't expect the series do go 7. Beason flipped a coin twice because he dropped it the first time. I do agree with one thing you said though, let's just play!! This game is for fun and both of these great teams are going to the state tourney next and should do very well and represent Area III. I hate that crap like this seems to happen every year. Legion baseball always has to have some type of drama. I'll see everybody at the game tonight.

Randolph wins 10-4 to win the Area III title. Stephen Davis only gave up 6 hits and 4 runs to Rowan County. Rowan just did not bring the bats with them tonight. They had several opportunities to score but could not capitalize. Rowan starter Cy Young was pretty good through 4 innings and then was touched for 5 runs in one inning. Neil Pritchard hit two homeruns for Post 45. Congratulations to Randolph, they are with out a doubt the best team Rowan's played this year. Good luck in the state tourney. Rowan will face defending champ Morehead City at 9:30 Wednesday morning and Randolph will play the host team Garner in the last game of the day.

    Congratulations to Randolph County!!!

Randolph wins Area III Championship tonight in convincing fashion in front of large crowd at Newman Park.

Winner of HalfnHalf took home $881 tonight,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I only missed it by 150,000 numbers... :47:

They said that was the biggest pot ever at Rowan. That is saying something there. The regionals and states have been there before. There was a whole lot of people there tonight. I hate Rowan didn't put on a better performance, but oh well!

Very convincing win for Randolph. I think the ejection last night lit a fire under Neil Pritchard. 2 bombs along with making all the tough plays at short. Rowan left the bases loaded twice on balls that were smoked but centerfielder Ben Bunting made outstanding plays on both of them. Some say this series don't mean much but Randolph should be proud to be named Area III Champions. Best of luck to both teams in Garner.

Made it to the game after all. It was another great game from two quality clubs. Rowan had some chances but Randolph stepped up to the challenge. Stephen Davis was a bulldog on the mound and Pritchard was his usual self at the plate with two long balls, but Ethan Marsh was hitting rockets all over the place tonight.
Who is the SS for Rowan? He is a hardnosed player and fun to watch. He plays with a lot of class.
Good luck to both teams in Garner.

Justin Roland is Rowan's shorstop. And I agree. Spark plug offensively; rock solid defensively; plays the game the way it is supposed to be played.
