i hope cherryville wins all its games except against caldwell but i dont think i would stick my chest out too far if i were cherryville. caldwell out hit cherryville 3 of the 4 games. like i say good luck to both teams. guess middle school is back in session.

You are right but you only won one of those games care to explain that? And just what do you mean by that?

 

Too bad hits don't mean a thing in the Win/Loss column.

 

The fact that someone "outhit" someone else leaves out a large part of the game.

What about extra base hits, walks and errors? Sometimes a team will get plenty of runners but not score many. That doesn't mean the offense wasn't working; it just happens that way sometimes.

You can't decide to have a walk and then a home run rather than the opposite.

Yeah we could have put Henderson in there in Game 2 when it was 6 or 7 to nothing and stopped it at that if total hits/runs scored for the series meant anything.

 

The implication often is that the team that gets the most hits is supposed to win the game, and we know that's not always the case. Usually, but not always.

What skewed the numbers in that series was the rout. The same can be true with a pitcher's record. A few bad games can make the pitcher look worse than he is.

Would you have really considered that after he threw nine the day before?

Not really wanting to get into the middle of this, just making a point to think about what you are posting.

I know some people really get into these back and forth post, I personally would like to see the testosterone level reduced a little and get back to some good informative posting. I know this is an open forum, but sometimes it seems to be too open.
