Baseball Players that have gone on to the next level

Is there any way we can convince people to keep us updated on more of the baseball players that have gone on to play at the next level? I have read about and followed many of them for years at the HS level but it is hard now that they are spread over so many different schools and in the pros. We hear about the players at North Carolina, due to their recent success, but many other players that we used to hear about that play at different schools don't get much press so it is hard to keep up with them and where they have gone.

 

I agree. I have tried to get some of our members that have son's that moved on to college to post what is happening at their schools....but to little success. I really don't know why. This would be a great place to keep up with them

Hopefully, we can do a much better job this year. I need some moderators to take control of this forum and make it fun and informative.

 

Braves....I'll help take on the challenge if you want....we can include the college guys and the pro guys and try and keep everyone up to speed if you want me to.

 

I'm in as well. If we could break it up into regions it may be easier? For example, I could tackle from Raleigh down to the coast and you fella's could take care of everything to the west?

 

I think, in a lot of cases, it's the cold reality of college ball versus the happy go lucky days of high school. Players are big fish in small ponds at the high school level and parents are reluctant to admit it. It's not long til they find there are plenty of "big fish" at the college level. Playing time is diminished for any number of reasons. Not much fun trying to toot Jr's horn when he's riding the pine....Sometimes things just don't work out.

But, if your kid is in a position to get a quality education while playing the game he must still love - why be ashamed that he's not an everyday player? If he still loves the game, he is working harder at it than ever before. He's having to do this while maintaining his studies and expanding his social network. Whatever level of college ball, that is an accomplishment!

Like you, I miss hearing about kids that I've read so much about. Hope to see much more later this fall and next spring....

 

Yeah, but Red Bear, we rarely had parents talk about their kids. They always brought up other players instead...like you

But with JM15 and dbacks as moderators and you too if you are interested, we could really make this forum fun.

BTW, Robert Woodard was called up to AAA Portland to pitch in relief. 2 innings/ 6 K's.......not bad, huh!

 

College players

I find it hard to report on my own. It was much easier to discuss high school ball because I could talk about players on other teams such as Butler or South Meck and everyone could relate to them. If I start talking about players from Richmond or Dayton I'm sure not many would care!! If anyone has any questions on the 49er's I'll do my best to answer them. My youngest is now at Pitt Community College so hopefully I can help in that area in the future. I agree, it's good to hear how the college boys are doing as well as the recent draftees. I was able to see Daniel Bard, Ryan Morris and Mike Ambrose (49ers) this summer which was really nice. Hope everyone is doing well.

Former Davidson, West Lincoln, Post 100 standout, has been tearing it up lately in Clinton Iowa . He is batting close to 400 since being given the starting job in late July.

ECU

I'll try to keep updates on ECU. Seth will probably not be seeing alot of time. So I can focus on some of the other guys from NC and report as the fall goes on and for sure in the spring. Seth went there late so I don't know everyone yet but I know some on the NC guy's (Maness,Sowers,Mincey,Harrington,I'm sure there are more)Have been metioned on this board alot.
