Jason Roach, former UNCW standout and current 10 year pro player, has launched a new web site and baseball apparell line. Roach was originally drafted by the NY Mets and spent six years in the orgainization. Originally a HR slugging 3rd baseman, Roach was converted to a pitcher and worked his way up to triple A with the Mets and has had a couple of trips to the majors. Currently, he is in the Pirates Organization, shuttling up and down from Indianapolis and Altoona over the last two years.
In the off-season, he partners with Tommy Smith in a baseball instruction school in Raliegh.

one of the best baseball guys around

My son worked with Jason in the winter months for the past 5 years. He is a very good instructor who really works with his students on being the best they can be. He's not one of those "there's only one way and that's my way" instructors. More importantly, Jason is one of the best people we've gotten to know through baseball. He was as excited about my son's scholarship as my son was. He always pushes Grier to keep setting higher goals.
The website is a way for him to give back and connect with younger players as they follow the path he has been down. It's still a work in progress but he has big plans for it down the road.
