I think Kyle Gordon (RHP), '09 Porter Ridge/Dirtbags belongs on that list. Throwing in the 87 - 89 range, with probably the best curve ball of any '09 player. Don't know him, ask some players from the South Charlotte Panthers, they know him.

If I recall i dont believe the dirtbags have ever beaten SCP O9' team. Also, everytime SCP 09' has played the dirtbags 09' the dirtbags seem to find a way to pitch players such as Seth Simmons who has just graduated and the oldest McBride brother. When they met last both the McBride brothers pitched and SCP 09' beat them by ten runs!

Could be, but I recall a tie at Wingate University this year, Gordon pitched the last half of the game for the Dirtbags and shut them down.

ECU BASEBALL: Walker Gourley, a 6-foot, 165-pound junior (2009) shortstop from Eastern Wayne, committed to East Carolina this week.

Use to watch this player in AAU for several years play with the Kinston based Carolina Hurricanes (their coach was a hoot-where are you Jonathon). Walker will be playing his fall ball this year with the Cubs.

This is just another example of how deep the 2009 middle infield talent is in our state.

The score was 0-0 and Seth simmons(07') pitched for the "09" team. Then he came in and finished. I guess whoever SCP had throwing must have been pretty good too.

    Both Teams are very good

The SCP 09 and the DB 09 squads are both outstanding. And it is not uncommon for teams to bring in guys to pitch in these tourneys. Ryan Arrowood 08 was on the hill for the SCP 09's this weekend at App State. I have not seen the Gordon kid pitch yet. I have heard he was very good. Hopefully I will get the chance to see him this fall. I did get to see some of the Heat 09 SCP game at App State. It was a very good game. Both teams looked very good.

Then the SCP did not beat the Dirtbags by 10 runs as previously posted. Never posted the P for SCP was not good. They just did not beat the Dirtbags by 10, they tied the Dirtbags. What was the age of Simmons when he pitched that game at Wingate? It is the age of the player, not the graduating year.

Coach May -- SCP only has 1 team for the Fall so no more 2009 SCP. There are 5 or 6 "08s this Fall incl Ryan who has joined the team. 2 of them incl Ryan can play down due to birthdate.

Birdhunter and Average Joe -- Both teams are very good and it'll be a battle every time they play each other so can we end it there?
