"Wow...so he has heard from Oregon State?"

"not exactly...but they will soon. Andy has contacts"

"Well, good luck to your boy"

"Thanks...I'll have to get used to wearing orange and black"

"So your kid really likes Oregon State?"

"not exactly...he's never heard of them"

John (little Johnny in HS).. does everything a he thinks a real player does, dips/chews, eye black just right, batting gloves in perfect position in the back pockets, talks the talk...total package.
Routine grounders go through the 5 hole on a regular basis and each time daddy sprints over to ask scorekeeper,"Was that an error? Should he have had that? Too hot to handle? I thought it took a funny hop."

 

Here is one that happens a lot when filling out questionaires

Dad: Johnny how tall are you
J: About 5'9"
D: We will say your about 6'0", scouts will like that better
D: Whats your weight
J: About 150
D: We will say your 175 and I'll write CHISLED beside that. Scouts will not but help and come and see you then.
