UNC-Asheville has a number of good former Charlotte area players so you might keep track of them and post anything interesting.

    Player - Previous HS

    Ben Buchanan - East Meck
    Justin Schumer - East Meck
    Mike Vaughn - Hopewell
    Danny Baatz - Porter Ridge
    Billy Enright - Independence
    Michael Bogaert - Ashbrook
    Wil Skidmore - South Meck
    Brett Robinson - South Meck

Also wouldn't mind hearing how Ryan Morris, David Mailman, and Madison Bumgardner is doing from time to time.

Havent posted in a while but will update that Wes Borden has transferred from App State and is now at Penn State. He will play middle infield for them (probably the 6 spot) The whole thing has been a dream so far. Can read a press release about it all at www.gopsusports.com. He had surgery this summer on his elbow but is doing well now. Just hard for old southern dad to buy Nittany Lion gear

I can try to provide updates on UNC-A players from the area when things start heating up. Right now not much to tell as they just finished conditioning and are in group workouts. My son did say that a couple of the Charlotte area boys did look pretty good.

Andy Oliver did well at Pfieffer this past spring. He finished the season with a 5 & 3 record. He did even better with the summer copperhead wood bat team. Braves, How is TJ doing.

For those that don't know, my son had TJ surgery last February. He is sporting a new bionic arm and is ready to try it out. He is chomping at the bit for the season to get started.

The other surprising change in TJ is his appearance. Many remember him as a 6'5" 170 lbs of all arms and legs. If you haven't seen him recently, you wouldn't recognize him. After grueling workouts and rehabbing, he is at 225-230 now with big, thick legs and something else he never had....a chest!

If he stays healthy, it should be an interesting year for him.
