a score from our new leader and chief moderator head honcho Village Idiot

    Mooresville 34
    North Iredell 6

He said it was a monsoon in the first half and Mooresville played as sloppy as the field but got right with the coaches at halftime and put them away.

I wish they had played around here. It was pouring buckets around kickoff time but it has been pretty dry since 8:30 or so.

And dang if they haven't already called off my son's rec league game tomorrow when it's supposed to be 80 and sunny...:furious3:

thanks wossa, those pee-wees will get to play one day. hang in there!

i gotta hand it to those kids at N. Iredell. they made Mooresville earn this win. The Blue Devils came out flat as Aunt Ednas.......back yard, and the Raiders owned the line of scrimmage for much of the game. Mooresville intercepted a half back pass with about a minute to go in the first half and converted that into a 7-0 lead at the break. NI closed to within a point early on in the third but just didnt have enough horses in the barn to run with Mooresville. Oddly enough the Blue Devil passing game was clicking a whole lot better than the rushing game and it paid huge dividends.

now its on to a match-up with an undefeated E. Rowan team in Mooresville as the Blue Devils will play only their second home game of the season next Friday.

Proud of those Raiders tonight. Heck of an effort and props to the coaches for getting them ready. Never thought it could be done. Congrats to the Blue Devils, and Good Luck the rest of the way!!

the entire sports complex at NI looks great big mark. a few years ago that place was downright sad but things are different now. its something to be proud of.

It's good to see the O-line starting to gel a little. Toms and Black are great backs, but you need those boys upfront opening the holes and that is starting to happen. You can also see the improvement of Reggie as the QB. The passes that he completed to Burris and Brooks were nice. How good can this kid be? Another kid that needs some props is Austin the Freshman kicker. He made the 40 yrd FG in less than perfect conditions and the coaches have been more than surprised by his punting this season. Another one that can be a special player before his time in Chargerland is over. Talk about a great kickoff return by Brooks. He picks it up on the one runs to about the 20, totally reverses field and is sprung by a great block (another young player...freshman Price). Levon is a JR so another underclassman that will make big plays. The connection of Wilkins to Brooks could be something to watch as they continue to grow and develop. The defense was stout once again and underclassmen playing a part. Felt like Soph. Tisdale had a good game from his LB'er spot. Also McDowell, Jr DE, also played well. The secondary got hit on a couple big plays, but they also made some good defensive plays as well. Again a spot where Crest is young playing a FR and Soph. Crest is now 4-0 for the first time since 2002.

I know Coach Lloyd hated to see the rain. He wanted to throw the ball and go at the Crest secondary. Things are going to get better at KM. You didn't see the head hanging that we saw in the past when KM got down and their crowd stayed behind them through out. They need to find some answers on defense and that can come as they look at kids and the positions that they play.

It's now time for Big South play as the Chargers host Ashbrook in what will no doubt be a hard hitting game.

    New WHS Field

From what I understand the football field at the new Watauga High School is supposed to have the turf like ACR's. Of course groundbreaking isn't until next week, providing everyone can agree on either gold shovels or silver shovels. This high school has been the biggest fiasco so far and ground breaking hasn't even occured yet. I hope that do the thing right from A-Z and let the coaches and teachers have a big input in the designs and ideas.
