Winthrop Transfers?

    Anyone have any idea what the situation is at Winthrop that is causing so many transfers? A post on the sebaseball website today indicated that Alex Wilson is transfering to another D1 school. They did not report where, but if true, this is the 5th or 6th transfer out of that once up-and-coming program.

    If true anyone know what programs he is considering?

    I have noticed lots of transfers at many schools this year. The new NCAA rule starting in 08-09 will significantly reduce transfers. Must sit out a year like in football & basketball. That will be a good thing.

    The NCAA rules changes regarding transfers, to be effective next year, not withstanding, this is an inordinate amount of transfers from a highly regarded Div 1 program. The fact that the list of transfers includes your main weekend starter just highlights the potential impact on this programs outlook for the future.

    IMHO...

    and from experience it is rather simple "most of the time"...the players are unhappy because they ARE NOT playing or getting a chance to play and they think they should!:gun_bandana:

    I agree that most of the time it is lack of playing time. But what got my attention was the ace of the staff leaving on top of five others. Maybe just a coincidence but it does cause a raised eyebrow.

    That has not been reported as of yet. At least not that I can find. SEBASEBALL.com has just reported that he is transfering but no info on where.

    Only a good thing WHEN...


    It could be a good thing, but only WHEN....... lololololol, baseball gets full rides like football and basketball. Until then, with a player getting 0 to a minimum of 25%, the new transfer rules are wrong, IMHO.
