In another thread the topic strayed to quality instruction... with that in mind, let's think about this??? Where do you get the best baseball instruction for the cost? I know different instructors / "academies" charge different amounts? But where do you get the best for the least $$$?

Think about it and post here.

Explain why it is the best BANG FOR THE BUCK!!

This should be a great thread.

I wonder if I should plug my akademy....again

I really hope we can get some prices listed. I'm very curious what the costs are now.

Well that takes out most showcase teams. Most of the Daddy teams. High School not so much a dollar deal. Little League ??? Guess that ones best instruction dollar is dad playing catch in the back yard. NO pitching or that, just throw the ball and having a great day with the kid. Cost nothing feeling priceless.:curtain:

    an honest answer

I play for a top instructional team with top coaches and instruction. We play hard and work hard. But no matter how hard we play we have friends that have all thier expenses covered and have alot of incintives, almost like they do in the pros. Its sometimes hard to compete with that. Im not complaining but its like we are playing in different leages.

I would really like for this to be a thread where good information is shared... Who provides the best instruction for the best price? It could be a showcase team/organization where players actually get instruction, it could be a baseball academy where the quality of instruction is high, and it is not just about making a buck. It could be an extremely knowlegable person who donates his time for the love of the game.

Think about it.... best for cost!!

South Charlotte Panthers. Growing up i played for them and im proud to say i did. It was a privledge to play for that organization. They have a group of people in place there that do it for the right reasons. They may be considered a showcase team, but they do not play showcase ball. They play hard nosed, unselfish, team baseball. These guys do it the right way. To me, there was never a better oportunity for a baseball player. To say it is a privlidge to play for that team, is an understatement

Ok You have beat it out of me. Old Angels coach. My son played for him since 7 about ten years. Has showed him the true game. Leaving to bad things aside. He has been a success with players that the big teams did not want but now have. My son has over 50 first place trophies from AAU & USSSA tourneys, several are state championships. He has been a true coach. Still cares about evnen the players that no longer play for him. Some who are playing for the elite showcase teams. Dollar amount he was paid zero it was always about the team.:detective:

Some of my experiences with this include pitching instruction with Justin Willoughby in Princeton,NC. Justin was drafted out of high school and signed with the Braves. He's too cheap at about $30.00/hr.(you always get about 1.5 hrs.). Justin is one of those folks who can teach anything. Quality individual. Mike Caldwell, and his son Daniel in Raleigh. About $65.00/hr. They provide the bullpen catcher out of the fee. Mike Mullis & Tommy Eason at Triple Crown Baseball in Greenville have a package for $125.00/mo. for 6 mos., or $150.00/mo. for 3 mos. which gives you a 1 hr. session per week, and unlimited use of their wonderful facility. It's big enough to have indoor infield practice!! Your private sessions can focus on any aspect of the game. I'm not sure there is anyone more enthusiastic about developing players than Mike & Tommy. They also are the coaching staff at Pitt Community College. they have years of college coaching experience. Both were catchers in their playing days. Why do catchers always seem to be the most knowledgeable baseball instructors?

    Again with the Catchers!

    :scholar:
It's just one of those mysteries of the game I guess.

Maybe it comes from facing the wrong way? Or playing in foul territory?

Or having an umpire hear everything you say even if you whisper?

Or being the first one the Coach comes to after each inning to bitch about our play?
